The Farmers Alley Theatre is a professional ensemble based non-profit performance company dedicated to producing popular and new work in the Downtown Kalamazoo area in a unique and intimate setting.
Celebrating the Kalamazoo actor, we aim to foster artistic and economic growth in the central city through a signature drama series, children's theatre performed by adults, a cabaret music series, and a new work/spoken word component. Additionally, the Farmers Alley Theatre is dedicated to providing itself as a highly intensive educational base for the training of the young Kalamazoo actor by providing lessons, workshops, and seminars in the areas of voice, acting, dance, and speech.
Our Vision
- To establish ourselves as the leading small independent theatre organization in the region.
- To promote arts education with private, close-quartered training in a multitude of disciplines.
- To dedicate our venue as a place for home-grown artists to return to Kalamazoo in order to share their talent with us.
- To provide a venue for alternative programming with frequent performances of new theatrical events and spoken word.
Our Values
Not Just Entertainment Although we aim to please our audience, it is equally important to us to uphold the artistic integrity of the works performed.
A Provider of Equal Opportunity It is imperative that everyone has access to the theater at a reasonable price.
A Promoter of Arts Education In addition to the works presented, we encourage the development of training the young actor/singer by providing intense and private education by our experienced staff.
