FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Winner of the 2011 Pulitzer Prize for Drama and 212 Tony Award for Best Play, CLYBOURNE PARK takes up residence this February at Farmers Alley Theatre. Inspried in part by Lorraine Hansberry's classic A Raising in the Sun, CLYBOURNE PARK is told in two acts, in the same Chicago house 50 years apart. This timely new play begins in 1959, where a white family is selling their home to a black family: the first to move into the neighborhood. 50 years later in act two, a while couple looks to buy the ame house in what has now become an all-black neighborhood. Filled with surprising humore and raw emotion, CLYBOURNE PARK is one theatrical experience that is sure to be that genuine piece of art that moves its audiences and starts conversations. It runs February 7th thru the 23rd.

CLYBOURNE PARK will be directed by our New York based guest artist, Awoye Timpo. My Timo's work has been seen off-Broadway, as well as at the Julliard School and many other reputable instituations. She recently directed the play RUINED at Western Michigan University in 2012. Satrring in CLYBOURNE PARK will be a myriad of local talent both familiar and new to Farmers Alley Theatre.
