Farmers Alley Theatre’s favorite composing team, Scott Burkell and Paul Loesel, are bringing their brand new musical, The Extraordinary Ordinary, to Kalamazoo, straight from New York City. The Extraordinary Ordinary follows a group of college friends - straight, gay and confused - as they face the challenges of life in Manhattan and explore everything from dating and sex to marriage and starting a family. Filled with humor, heart and hope, Burkell and Loesel bring their songwriting talents back to Michigan in this Drama Desk nominated production. It’s Friends meets thirtysomething with a musical twist!

The Marvelous Wonderettes are back as they create a rockin' 60s party to celebrate the holidays with friends and family! Betty Jean, Cindy Lou, Missy and Suzy are entertaining at the 1968 Holiday Party for Harper's Hardware, where Betty Jean has worked since high school. Audience members are fellow employees, friends and family, and the girls have transformed the hardware store (and our theatre) into a winter wonderland! Performed in our fabulous cabaret setting, where desserts and drinks are served to each guest at their own table, Winter Wonderettes is the best theatrical present this holiday season - No wrapping required!

Superior Donuts
From Tony Award and Pulitzer Prize winning playwright Tracy Letts comes his new play, Superior Donuts, premiering this February. Former draft dodger Arthur P. runs a decrepit donut shop in an uptown neighborhood in Chicago. When Franco Wicks, an idealistic African-American teenager, comes to work for him, Arthur is skeptical of his ideas to improve the business. But over time, the two form an unlikely bond as this deliciously funny and thought-provoking work explores the challenges of embracing the past and the redemptive power of friendship. God of Carnage
Winner of the 2009 Tony Award for Best Play, God Of Carnage comes to Farmers Alley Theatre this spring. Returning after last year’s hit A Catered Affair, Joe Aiello and Scott Burkell star as two fathers whose sons have been involved in a physical altercation at school. When both sets of parents meet up to discuss the boys’ punishments, what ensues between the two couples is a “hilarious comedy of manners without the manners.” A riotously intelligent social commentary on marriage, parenting and one's base instincts, God of Carnage is brutally entertaining. The Light in the Piazza
