2018-19 Season
A Doll's House, Part 2
In the final scene of Henrik Ibsen’s groundbreaking masterwork of 1879, A Doll’s House, wife and mother Nora Helmer makes the shocking decision to leave her husband and children, and begin a life on her own. This climactic event – when Nora slams the door on everything in her life – instantly propelled world drama into the modern age.
In A Doll’s House, Part 2 (the brand-new Tony winning sequel from 2017), many years have passed since Nora’s exit. Now, there’s a knock on that same door. Nora has returned. But why? And what will it mean for those she left behind? A Doll’s House, Part 2 is a sequel that stands perfectly well on its own. From playwright Lucas Hnath (The Christians), it delivers explosive laughs while also posing insightful questions about marriage, gender inequality, and human rights.
Talkbacks following performances on Nov. 9th and 16th.
